Sheede Baba Jiwan Singh Ji (Bhai Jaita Ji) was born in 1649 at Patna, Bihar (India) to Sada Nand Ji and his mother, Mata Premo Ji. He later came to be known as Bhai Jiwan Ji after being initiated into the Khalsa. He grew up in Patna, where he got training in martial arts and learned the art of warfare. In addition, he learned horse-riding, swimming, music, and Kirtan. When Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, the ninth guru of Sikh, was martyred by the Mughals at Chandni Chowk, Delhi, Bhai Jaita Ji (Baba Jiwan Singh Ji) along with two other Sikhs, recovered Guru Ji’s dismembered body from a Muslim crowd and brought it back to Guruji’s son, Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Bhai Jaita Ji made the journey with deep faith and courage. This heroic act earned him immense respect from Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who affectionately declared, “Rangrete Guru Ke Bete”, meaning “The Rangretas are the sons of the Guru.”
Baba Jiwan Singh Ji was with Guru Gobind Singh Ji during the evacuation of Anandpur Sahib and fought the battles of Bhangani, Nadaun, Anandpur Sahib, Bajrur, Nirmohgarh, all four wars of Anandpur Sahib, Bansali/Kalmot, and Sarsa. Baba Jiwan Singh Ji was martyred at Chamkaur Sahib on 23 December, 1705. After his death, a tomb was erected to honor him at Gurudwara Shaheed Burj Sahib at Chamkaur.
Bhai Jiwan Singh Ji’s life symbolizes equality, bravery, and deep commitment to the Guru’s mission. His contributions hold a respected place in Sikh history and continue to inspire generations.

ਸਰਹੱਦੀ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚ ਉੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਮਾਣਯੋਗ ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ. ਗੁਲਜ਼ਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਣੀਕੇ ਦੇ ਉਦਮਾਂ ਸਦਕਾ ਮਾਣਯੋਗ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ, ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ-ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ‘ਤੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਸਤਲਾਣੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰ ਨਗਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਾਲ ੨੦੧੧ ਵਿਚ ਬਾਬਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸਿੰਘ (ਭਾਈ ਜੈਤਾ ਜੀ-ਰੰਗਰੇਟਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਾ ਬੇਟਾ) ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਉੱਪਰ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਨੀਂਹ-ਪੱਥਰ ਮਾਣਯੋਗ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ. ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ, ਮਾਣਯੋਗ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਣਯੋਗ ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ. ਗੁਲਜ਼ਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਣੀਕੇ ਨੇ ਮਿਤੀ ੧੭ ਦਸੰਬਰ ੨੦੦੮ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਸਾਲ ੨੦੧੩ ਤੋਂ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਐਫ਼ੀਲੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਕੂਲ਼ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਬੋਰਡ ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ। ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਦਾ ਮੰਤਵ ਸਰਹੱਦੀ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚ ਉੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਪਤਿਤਪੁਣੇ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਧੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਪਾਉਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਰਵਪੱਖੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸੰਦਰਭ ਵਿਚ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਖੇਡਾਂ, ਸਹਿ-ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ-ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕੈਂਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਰ-ਕਾਲਜ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਖਾਲਸਾਈ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਮੱਲਾਂ ਮਾਰ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਯੂਥ ਫੈਸਟੀਵੈਲ ਅਤੇ ਖਾਲਸਾਈ ਯੁਵਕ ਮੇਲੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਾਰ, ਕਵੀਸ਼ਰੀ, ਗਿੱਧਾ, ਪੇਂਟਿੰਗ, ਲੋਕ-ਗੀਤ, ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕੁਇਜ਼, ਨਿਬੰਧ ਲੇਖਨ, ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆ, ਸੁੰਦਰ ਦਸਤਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਕੰਠ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸਥਾਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਮੁੱਚਾ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਸਤਿਕਾਰਯੋਗ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਸਕੱਤਰ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ, ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਮੈਂਬਰ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਨਿਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਤਹਿ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਧੰਨਵਾਦੀ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਸਦਕਾ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਬਾਬਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਸਤਲਾਣੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੌੜੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
